The past two decades have built on the successes of the Human Genome Project identifying the impact of genetics and genomics on human traits. While the breadth of these is great, they focus largely on the following three areas: 1) performance; 2) injury susceptibility; and 3) sports associated chronic conditions, such as osteoarthritis.
Understanding this could lead to better treatments, improved diagnostics, or a deeper grasp of how the human body works — benefiting patient care globally.
