OBJECTIVE: To estimate systematic and anatomic site-specific age-standardized prevalence rates (ASRs) and analyze the secular trends of osteoarthritis (OA) at global, regional, and national levels. The prevalence of OA has increased and diversified by geographic location and affected joint.
Understanding this could lead to better treatments, improved diagnostics, or a deeper grasp of how the human body works — benefiting patient care globally.
