About This Scholarship
The Holland Scholarship is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and is available to international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to study at a Dutch research university (wo) or university of applied sciences (hbo) in the Netherlands.
The scholarship is a one-time payment intended to help cover the costs of the first year of your Bachelor's or Master's programme in the Netherlands.
Scholarship amount:
- €5,000 one-time payment for the first academic year
The Holland Scholarship is offered by a consortium of Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. Eligible students must be nominated by a participating institution.

Eligibility Requirements
- Non-EEA nationality (not from a European Economic Area country or Switzerland)
- Applying for or accepted into a full-time Bachelor's or Master's programme at a participating Dutch institution
- Not previously studied in the Netherlands
- Meeting the English language requirements of the programme
- Must meet the institution's specific additional criteria (varies by university)
- Application is submitted through the university, not directly to the Dutch government
