About This Scholarship
The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) — officially known as the Global Korea Scholarship — is funded by the South Korean government to strengthen educational exchanges and promote mutual friendships with partner countries.
For 2026, approximately 1,000 scholarships are available for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees at South Korean universities.
The program offers:
- Full tuition coverage
- Monthly living stipend (KRW 900,000 for undergrad; KRW 1,000,000–1,200,000 for graduate)
- One-way or round-trip airfare (depending on program type)
- Korean language training (1 year)
- Medical insurance
- Research allowance
- Relocation allowance
Eligibility Requirements
- Citizen of eligible country (not Korean citizen or dual Korean national)
- Under 25 years (undergraduate), under 40 years (graduate)
- At least 80% GPA or equivalent in previous studies
- Good health (medical exam required)
- Available through Korean embassy or university track (different application periods)
- Not enrolled in same-level degree program in South Korea
- Not recipient of another Korean government scholarship
