About This Scholarship
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a Fulbright exchange activity that provides 10 months of non-degree professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries in the early and mid-stages of their careers.
The program brings together accomplished mid-level professionals from government, academia, NGOs, and the private sector to strengthen leadership skills and professional expertise in the United States.
Humphreys are assigned to host universities based on their professional interests and participate in:
- Tailored academic coursework (non-degree)
- Professional affiliations and internships at US organizations
- Leadership development activities
- Networking with US counterparts
- Study tours to other US cities
Professional fields include:
- Public health and public policy
- Finance and economic policy
- Journalism and communications
- Educational administration and curriculum development
- Law and human rights
- Technology policy and management
Eligibility Requirements
- Citizens of designated HHH-eligible countries (Africa, Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Europe/Eurasia)
- Mid-career professionals with at least 5 years of significant professional experience
- Demonstrated leadership in their field
- English language proficiency (minimum TOEFL iBT 48 or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- No prior extended study or residence in the United States
- Not enrolled in a degree program at time of application
- Commitment to returning to home country after the fellowship
